Conçue dans les années 1980, la table M1 illustre l’approche audacieuse et architecturale du designer néerlandais Hank Kwint pour l’éditeur Metaform. Avec son plateau circulaire en verre épais, subtilement encastré dans une ceinture métallique, elle repose sur quatre pieds en aluminium brossé aux arêtes saillantes.
La confrontation entre la transparence du verre, la densité du cerclage et la verticalité affirmée de la structure crée une composition graphique, presque industrielle, où la matière dialogue avec la lumière. Épure, rigueur et équilibre formel définissent cette pièce à la présence affirmée, emblématique du langage postmoderne néerlandais.
