Published in the 1980s, Hank Kwint's HK-2 table for Metaform embodies a formal balance that is as radical as it is elegant. Its circular tempered glass top rests cantilevered over a cylindrical metal column, itself anchored to a cubic black stone base.
This geometric interplay between the circle, the cylinder and the cube creates an architectural silhouette of great sobriety, typical of Dutch design of the period. Both graphic and minimalist, the HK-2 deploys a controlled aesthetic, where each element interacts in a contained sculptural tension.
